REALIZING YOUR DORM MATTRESS IS THINNER THAN YOUR WILLPOWER.

Remember that first day? Stepping into a shoebox-sized room, bursting with boxes and a nervous excitement that bordered on pure terror. The initial encounter with that infamous mattress – a true test of one's dedication to higher learning. It seemed less like a bed and more like a poorly padded plank, instantly challenging every comfortable notion you ever held about sleep. Yet, somehow, amidst the late-night study sessions fueled by questionable coffee and the shared anxieties of impending exams, that flimsy mattress became the foundation for something extraordinary.

It was where countless ideas were born, where friendships solidified over whispered confessions and midnight snacks, and where the weight of the world, and sometimes just that week's problem set, was temporarily forgotten. Moving in was about new beginnings, about trying to fit a lifetime of possessions into a tiny space, symbolizing the vastness of knowledge you were about to absorb.

Then came moving out. The bittersweet ache of packing up years of memories, peeling off posters that had become part of the wall, and dismantling the makeshift world you’d created. Suddenly, that thin mattress, now a witness to so many triumphs and setbacks, felt like a silent confidant. The space, once overwhelming, now seemed too small to contain the enormity of the growth you'd experienced. Moving out wasn't just about clearing a room; it was about closing a chapter, carrying forward the resilience forged in those dorm halls, the bonds strengthened by shared discomforts, and the unwavering willpower that got you through it all. Those four years, or more, shaped us in ways we’re still discovering.
