REALIZING EVERYONE’S FAKING IT—JUST DIFFERENTLY.

Follow for more candid reflections on the post-campus maze.

Remember that campus bubble? Where every internship felt like a direct path to a 'prestigious' career, and every friend seemed destined for a corner office. The air was thick with ambition, a future of limitless opportunity seemingly guaranteed.

Then you graduated. Suddenly, those perfectly curated LinkedIn profiles looked a little different. Your former study group, once all aiming for Wall Street or Big Tech, is now widely dispersed. Some are indeed thriving, but others are exploring 'passion projects,' taking a 'gap year,' or working in roles you never imagined – certainly not the ones discussed in those late-night library sessions. This isn’t about judgment; it’s the quiet realization that the script we were handed was incomplete.

We all entered the 'real world' with a carefully constructed facade, ready to present our most successful selves. But beneath that polished surface, there's a universal truth: we’re all navigating this weird transition, often feeling just as lost as the next person, regardless of our alma mater's prestige. The 'fake it 'til you make it' mantra takes on new meaning when you see through the illusion. Everyone is faking it, yes, but not deceptively. It’s more a collective performance of confidence while internally wrestling with imposter syndrome and unexpected detours. Finding solidarity in this shared vulnerability is the true connection. You are definitely not alone in feeling a little unmoored. It's okay to admit the journey isn't a straight line, even for us.
