First dorm meeting = chaos and pizza.
FIRST DORM MEETING = CHAOS AND PIZZA.
Follow us for more dives into our shared traditions!
Remember that first gathering? A room full of strangers, a mix of nervous energy and forced smiles. We were all fresh out of high school, trying to figure out how to be "college students," and suddenly we were crammed into a common room, probably with a perpetually broken air conditioner, staring at lukewarm pizza boxes. Someone, usually an RA trying way too hard, would kick off icebreakers while we silently judged each other's answers to "two truths and a lie." It felt a little chaotic, a lot awkward, and maybe, just maybe, a tiny bit exciting.
This wasn't just about bad pizza and uncomfortable small talk. This was the raw, unpolished start of something significant. It was the first brick laid in the foundation of our residential community, the initial awkward step into a world of shared academic ambition and unexpected late-night conversations. From those first hesitant interactions, we’d navigate everything from all-nighters fueled by questionable coffee to the unique, sometimes baffling, traditions that became the fabric of our experience. Whether it was the thrill of a primal scream session before finals or the mystique of a secret society, these were the moments that defined our journey.
For those of us who have walked these hallowed halls, those early dorm meetings now feel like ancient history, a hazy memory of beginnings. But the connections forged over mediocre pizza and the shared understanding of that initial chaos? They remain. They’re part of the glue that binds us, a testament to the fact that even the most prestigious institutions begin with the most human, and often messy, of introductions. These traditions, loved or quietly endured, are our shared story.
