We all remember the dining hall, a constant backdrop to our campus lives. But let's be honest, some of our most memorable culinary expeditions happened far from the main hall, deep within the hallowed, often slightly sticky, confines of our dorm kitchens. These were the arenas for our legendary Dorm vs. Dorm cook-off nights.
Suddenly, the same communal space that usually saw microwaved ramen and instant coffee transform into a bustling culinary battlefield. The competitive spirit, fueled by late-night study sessions and an insatiable desire for bragging rights, was palpable. Teams would form, secret family recipes would be whispered, and frantic last-minute grocery runs would become an Olympic sport. From gourmet grilled cheese elevated to an art form, to surprisingly ambitious international dishes, each dorm pulled out all the stops.
The chaos was glorious. The aroma of simmering sauces mingling with the scent of burnt toast.
