Post-Grad Life Real Talk

BEING REJECTED BY JOBS YOU DIDN'T EVEN WANT.

Follow for more real talk on navigating life post-graduation.

Remember the campus bubble? The endless intellectual debates, the networking events that promised a golden future, the belief that our hard-earned degree was a universal key? Then you stepped out. The "real world" hit, and suddenly that pristine resume wasn't quite the magic wand we expected. The job hunt began, a chaotic maze of applications and interviews. We were prepped for ambition, for landing dream roles at prestigious firms. But what about those applications we sent out of sheer volume, just to hit a quota, or because a recruiter begged us?

The truly bizarre part? Getting rejection emails from companies you barely remembered applying to, roles you instinctively knew weren’t for you. Or even worse, jobs that felt objectively beneath the intellectual rigor we'd grown accustomed to. That finance internship you only clicked on because it was vaguely related? Rejection. The sales associate position you briefly considered for "experience"? Nope. It’s a strange, deflating experience, isn't it? Like, "Wait, I graduated from here, and that job said no?" It messes with your perception, makes you question everything.

Did this happen to you? What was the most unexpected or ridiculous rejection you received, from a job you truly didn't care about? Let’s share the absurdity.
